Young People Driving the Search for Sustainable Mobility Solutions

From the bustling streets of cities to country roads, 1515 people were surveyed. Their responses show that 18- to 34-year-olds are leading the shift towards sustainable transport. Did you know that:

60% of young people living in cities prefer to walk in their daily lives, while 50% choose public transport as their main way of getting around the city.

While cars remain the dominant mode in suburban and rural areas because alternatives are limited, young adults see them as a significant expense while also associating them with pleasure and success.

At the same time, there is strong interest in reimagining the future of cars, with a focus on affordability, environmental sustainability and safety.

These findings highlight a key point: young adults are ready to embrace change in sustainable mobility, provided they are offered innovative solutions. They are also the most open to adopting multimodal transport options.
