Robotaxis are already operating in some cities. Autonomous shuttles are being tested in Europe. Autonomous public transport projects are emerging on dedicated routes, former railway corridors and in low-density areas.

Beyond the vehicle itself, an autonomous service requires infrastructure, operations, supervision, maintenance, proven safety, user acceptance, a viable business model and integration with existing networks.
