Cycling-friendly cities are cities of the future. But where do we stand in practice? Unsurprisingly, the Netherlands and Denmark stand out as leading examples. France, meanwhile, still has considerable ground to make up: cycling accounts for just 3% of journeys, compared with 30% in Europe’s leading country.
So what still needs to be done or changed to increase cycling’s share of journeys? How can we sustain its growing presence, now visible throughout the heart of our cities?
Our guests address these and many other questions:
Jérémie Almosni, Regional Director of ADEME Île-de-France.
Holger Haubold, Director of Statistics at ECF, the European Cyclists’ Federation.
Olivier Stern, Deputy Mayor of Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis), responsible for mobility and cycling-friendly urban development.
