How Multimodal Green Corridors Are Decarbonizing Freight Transport

Europe faces a major challenge: reducing greenhouse gas emissions from transport by 55% by 2030 and 90% by 2050.

Today, fossil fuels account for 94% of transport energy use in Europe.

Trucks will, of course, shift towards electric power, hydrogen and biofuels.

At the same time, intermodal transport—combining rail, inland waterways and maritime transport—will make a significant contribution to decarbonizing freight transport in Europe.

Movin'On is testing and driving the efficiency of multimodal green corridors in Europe through three on-the-ground modal shift initiatives.
