The CODATU Association, the Urban Mobility Authority for Greater Abidjan (AMUGA) and the Climate Chance Association are organising the International Conference on Sustainable Mobility and Climate #CIMDC2026, taking place from 19 to 21 October 2026 in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire.

The #CIMDC2026 is jointly organised by the three organisations under the auspices of the Côte d'Ivoire Ministry of Transport and builds on the Sustainable Mobility and Climate Week, held in 2022. It continues the momentum generated around the links between sustainable mobility and climate.

Against a backdrop of accelerating climate change, rapid urbanisation and growing mobility needs, mobility is at the heart of strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, while also strengthening territorial resilience, social equity and economic development.

This event will bring together African and international non-state stakeholders – local and regional authorities, public institutions, businesses, NGOs, researchers, funders and citizen networks – to share concrete solutions and strengthen cooperation in support of sustainable, inclusive mobility systems adapted to local realities.

The programme will include plenary sessions, workshops and a Pitch Corner, structured around four key thematic areas that will frame all discussions:

1 - Integrating mobility and urban planning

2 - The governance, financing and sustainability of transport systems

3 - Sustainable mobility and climate, addressing both the mitigation and adaptation challenges facing mobility and infrastructure in response to the impacts of climate change

4 - Technological and social innovations for more resource-efficient, inclusive mobility adapted to urban contexts
