A shared vision of the European cities of tomorrow, grounded in major social, societal and technological trends.
A catalogue of qualified and quantified opportunities to advance sustainable urban mobility.
A framework for launching coalitions among partners seeking to develop the selected opportunities further.
Foresight artefacts: five “imaginary cities” and around 30 qualified areas of opportunity.
Western European cities account for a growing share of passenger and freight journeys, amid the ecological transition, budget constraints and changing expectations among residents. Congestion, air quality, the allocation of public space and last-mile logistics: the challenges are mounting.
No single stakeholder can address them alone, while the many initiatives underway often remain fragmented. The challenge is to build a shared vision of the major trends towards 2040 and turn the opportunities identified into coalitions capable of taking action.
Develop a co-innovation framework to address the future challenges of sustainable mobility in European cities.
Highlight areas of opportunity, identify synergies and initiate coalitions among partners.
Create the conditions and solutions needed to make urban mobility attractive, inclusive and environmentally responsible.
Launch (kick-off).
Transfer of the selected opportunities to autonomous coalitions.
